About Us
SINAI TEMPLE now counts about 245 households as members, and we share a vibrant and inclusive combined religious school with Temple Beth El called B'Yachad, meaning "together." B'Yachad is one of the city's most respected learning centers. We are proud of how each member brings their own story to our diverse community. Our community includes those who have a multi-generational history at our congregation as well as those who are new to the Springfield area or to Sinai Temple. We have all ages and backgrounds who are seeking a Jewish community. We are a place you can call home.
MISSION STATEMENT: Sinai Temple is a welcoming and inclusive Reform Congregation where our members pursue a continuing journey of Jewish growth. We are guided by the history and traditions of the Jewish people as we consider the challenges of the modern world. We encourage participation in prayer, lifelong Jewish learning and social justice with a joyful, creative and compassionate community. As a congregation, we take pride in never turning away members due to their financial circumstances.
DIVERSITY: We are a congregation that appreciates the diverse backgrounds and traditions of our members. We are committed to welcoming a diversity of family structures and are dedicated to worship, study and acts of loving-kindness, as well as to fostering a strong sense of community.
