Services

Services at Sinai Temple are rooted in tradition, but are always turning outward to establish a link with the modern world. This underscores the relevance of living a Jewish life in today's society.

Services are held each Friday night throughout the year.  Most services begin at 7:00pm and last about 45 to 50 minutes.  However, some summertime services include a BBQ at 6:00pm prior to dinner.  Also, we generally have an earlier service (6:00pm) during the months of January and February.  In order to be sure about the service time on a given Friday night, we recommend that you call the temple office or check the Temple Bulletin for which there is a link on our home page. We pride ourselves on creating services that are joyful and highly participatory.

We also offer a variety of worship styles which speak to the varying needs and interests of our congregation. We hope each of our services is also “family friendly;” i.e. young people are always welcome!

Fridays and Saturdays at Sinai

Tot Shabbat and Other Services for Young Families
We have some services that are specifically designed with young children in mind.

Tot Shabbat is a service for families with young children. It generally takes place once each month on Friday nights during the school year.  Please consult the Temple Bulletin or call the Temple office to verify the timing of each service.

Services for Families with their Religious School Students
In addition to having a brief service during each Sunday morning when Religious School (B'Yachad) is in session, we also host a Friday evening Religious School Shabbat on certain Friday evenings throughout the school year.  Please consult the B'Yachad calendar or the Temple Bulleting for specific dates and times.

Torah Study and Saturday Morning Shabbat Services
Sinai Temple has a weekly Torah Study program each Saturday at 9:00am.  On Shabbat mornings when there is no Bar/Bat Mitzvah scheduled, there is no regular Shabbat morning service.

However, Bar/Bat students normally participate in leading a regular Shabbat morning service at 10:30am in the Sanctuary on the morning they observe their simcha.

Whether you come for Friday evening's Shabbat service, or for our Shabbat morning Torah Study, come join our Sinai Temple community.
