Cantor

Cantorial Soloist Lori Sumberg has served as in various Reform and Reconstructionist congregations since 2005 and is delighted to be with Sinai Temple for her second year, joined again by the High Holiday Choir.

Lori trained at H.L. Miller Cantorial School at the Jewish Theological Seminary where she graduated with an MA in Jewish Studies and a Certificate in Pastoral Care and Counseling. She holds an MA in English education from Boston University and is a longtime educator. 

A singer/songwriter and guitarist, Lori has recorded four albums of original folk-rock music and has an upcoming album of original Hebrew devotional chants. She was honored as a commissioned composer by the Women Cantors’ Network and is published in Ritualwell. Lori is a Chaplain at Stamford Hospital and resides in her hometown of Larchmont, New York. She is the proud mom of her beloved son, Jordan.
